The Banker’s House

Who doesn’t feel rich hosting an event at The Banker’s House??

The Banker’s House in Shelby, North Carolina was built in 1875 and is a historic estate that has been beautifully restored. As if we weren’t busy enough with life, we decided to start an Upstate South Carolina Events Photo Booth company!

Hi! I’m Doshandra. This is my husband Robert and our family of 5 KIDS!

It’s funny in some ways, heartbreaking in others, because for the longest time my goal… our goal, was to focus on careers and family and keep pushing forward. Day to day, the American way.

And as an Electrician and a Physician, we did just that. And along came the family, one kid after another after another after another after another–that’s right, 5 AMAZING BLESSINGS (hence our name)! And we absolutely LOVE IT!!! Every moment of it!

So we lived that life, and it was grand…Well, until we suffered a pretty blowing tragedy when we lost my brother suddenly. Talk about putting things into perspective and focusing on what truly matters. Something like that can really shake your core and give you a new outlook on life. We realized what was truly important and for us it’s RELATIONSHIPS! Relationships of all kinds, with our Heavenly Father, with each other, with our family and friends…with YOU! 

That’s when we decided, hey, we can do both…we can have the career, have the family, AND have the fun! And we Nelsons know how to have the fun! That’s where our Photo Booth and Balloon Decor Business came into play. We’ve had so much fun working Upstate South Carolina events, and can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take us.

We set all of our clocks 10 minutes early because, well you know, punctuality is that important for us. 

I love songs…if I had a current life superlative it’d be “most likely to spontaneously break out in song”! 🎶 Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you 🎶

Do you remember that song “I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night…and Party Everyday!”? (who’s that song by anyway?) That’s what plays in my head often.  

We really value our quality time together. We make it a priority to have a family game or movie night once a week, and have found that pizza is the family’s general favorite meal (it can be hard to make everyone’s appetites happy when you have 5 kids!).
