On February 22, 2025, the 5 STAR Memories team had the honor of participating in the Meals on Wheels of Greenville’s 30th Annual Sweetheart Charity Ball, a special evening held at the Greenville Convention Center. This annual fundraising gala serves a vital purpose: raising funds to provide meals for individuals and families in the Upstate of South Carolina. It was a night to celebrate an incredible milestone—70,402 meals provided to the homebound in 2024.
Meals on Wheels of Greenville plays such a crucial role in the community. And therefore we were excited to contribute to this event by enhancing the guest experience during the cocktail hour. Guests had the opportunity to bid on various community-sponsored prizes, and that’s where we came in.
The Challenge: A Unique Interactive Photo Experience
As a key part of the event, Meals on Wheels of Greenville wanted to add something special to the cocktail hour—a way to engage guests while they mingled and bid on prizes. Therefore, they sought a unique, interactive photo experience that would bring fun and excitement to the evening while staying true to the event’s branding and mission.
The Solution: A Tailored, Branded Experience
At 5 STAR Memories, we thrive on creating bespoke experiences that leave a lasting impression. For this event, we worked closely with the Meals on Wheels team to craft an interactive photo activation that seamlessly aligned with both the gala’s aesthetic and MOW Greenville’s brand. Powered by cutting-edge AI technology and facial recognition, our interactive photography service allowed each guest to receive a personalized, private gallery of their photos at the end of the event. It was our way of making sure the memories of the night lasted long after the gala ended.

- Custom Mobile Experience: We created a workflow that let us move through the crowd with our mobile photo booth. This undoubtedly ensured guests could interact with the booth while staying engaged with the Meals on Wheels branding.
- Branded Graphic Templates: We framed every photo with a branded graphic template that matched the event’s theme and emailed the photos directly to guests, eliminating the need to re-enter their information. Easy and seamless!
- Unlimited Photos: Guests had the opportunity to take unlimited photos, capturing all the fun moments of the evening.
- Energetic Team Support: Our team was on hand throughout the event, encouraging guests to take part in the experience. We also assisted with the sign-up process so that guests could easily access their personalized photo galleries once the event was over.
The Results: Capturing Memories and Making Connections
The impact of our interactive photo experience was clear. Over the course of the 2-hour cocktail period, we captured more than 135 photos. Next, we uploaded the photos to a private gallery for guests to download their favorites.
- 115+ photos were downloaded by guests, many of which were shared on social media, extending the event’s reach.
- We were also able to collect 45+ consumer email addresses in full compliance with data capture guidelines.
It was an incredible night, and we couldn’t be more proud to have been part of such a meaningful event. By creating an interactive experience that aligned with the mission of Meals on Wheels of Greenville, we were able to help raise awareness, engage guests, and contribute to a cause that is making a real difference in the community.

We had the honor of being part of the memorable Upstate SC Red Cross Gala held at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Greenville Hotel. This annual event brings together community members and supporters of the Red Cross to celebrate their impact and raise funds for a noble cause. We were thrilled to contribute our creative touch to this special evening through our balloon wall decor, and what better way to make a statement than with a stunning custom-designed balloon wall?
